The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced the postponement of the final match of the ongoing ‘Latin-Bangla Super Cup’ due to various mismanagement, financial irregularities, and disorder. The match between the Argentina and Brazil teams, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday (December 11), was suspended two days before the scheduled time.
In a letter signed by Ruhul Amin, Assistant Director of the Sports Ministry, on Tuesday (December 9), the organizing entity, AFB Boxing Promotion International Limited, was informed of the cancellation of the allocation of the National Stadium. The decision to postpone the match was also conveyed simultaneously.
The Ministry expressed dissatisfaction in the letter, stating:
Failure to pay $50\%$ of the ticket sales revenue.
Failure to clean the stadium after the game.
Failure to provide any information regarding sponsorship and broadcasting rights.
Due to these irregularities, the organizers were instructed to submit all financial accounts, including half the ticket sales revenue, by $4$ PM on December $9$.
Furthermore, Sports journalist Rubel Rehan was attacked by private security personnel at the National Stadium during a match on Monday night (December $8$). The Sports Ministry cited this incident as “serious and unacceptable,” and it was mentioned in the letter as one of the main reasons for the match postponement.
Additionally, the organizing entity had announced the arrival of two football legends, Cafu and Claudio Caniggia, but in reality, it is reported that neither of them will be attending.
