Honoring the enduring legacy of Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced that Khaleda Zia’s treatment is ongoing with the involvement of local and foreign doctors.

He made this remark in response to a question from journalists on Monday morning during the joining ceremony of Dr. Reza Kibria at the Chairperson’s office in Gulshan.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “As you know, Madam is unwell, and our doctors are working, trying their utmost. They are conducting the treatment by involving all local and foreign doctors.”

“We, along with the entire nation, are constantly praying to God that He may restore her health and that she may return to us well.”

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been admitted to Evercare Hospital since last Sunday. Following examinations there, an infection was detected in her lungs, and the BNP reported her condition as critical. Since Thursday, doctors have been providing intensive medical care to Khaleda Zia in the Critical Care Unit (CCU).

Khaleda Zia is currently receiving treatment under a medical board comprising local and foreign doctors, led by specialist physician Professor Shahabuddin Talukder of Evercare Hospital.

The board also includes Dr. Zubaida Rahman (wife of Tarique Rahman), as well as physicians from Johns Hopkins University in the United States and the London Clinic in the United Kingdom.

Tarique Rahman is maintaining contact with the medical board from London and is coordinating communication among the local and foreign doctors.
