A mild cold wave is currently sweeping across seven districts of Bangladesh, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). The affected districts include Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Panchagarh, Jessore, Chuadanga, and Kushtia. However, the weather office predicts that the cold wave may subside in some areas within the next 24 hours.
In its Friday morning bulletin, the BMD stated that the weather across the country is expected to remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies until Saturday morning.
Fog Warning and Transport Disruption: Moderate to thick fog is likely to blanket the country from midnight until morning, with visibility remaining low until noon in some regions. The BMD warned that flight operations, inland river transport, and road communications may face temporary disruptions due to the density of the fog.
Temperature Outlook: Night temperatures are expected to rise slightly across the country, while day temperatures will remain largely unchanged. The subcontinental high-pressure ridge is currently positioned over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay of Bengal.
