Players of Bangladesh A and India A shake hands after the semi-final match of Asia Cup Rising Stars at Doha in Qatar on 21 November 2025

DOHA, Qatar, November 21, 2025 – Bangladesh A claimed a dramatic, historic win over rivals India A. The teams played the first semi-final of the ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 in Doha. The match tied at 194 runs, forcing a Super Over. Ultimately, Bangladesh A won the bizarre tiebreaker. This stunning victory confirmed their spot in the tournament final.

Ripon Bowls India Out for Zero
The semi-final produced one of cricket’s most chaotic finishes. First, India A batted in the Super Over. However, pacer Ripon Mondol delivered a sensational spell. He dismissed both Indian batters on the first two balls. Shockingly, India A were all out for zero in just two deliveries.

The chase then began. Bangladesh A needed only one run to win. But, they lost a wicket on the very first ball. Consequently, tension immediately soared. Next, Indian bowler Suyash Sharma bowled a wide down the leg side. That single extra run sealed the victory for Bangladesh A. This match marks only the second instance of a zero-run Super Over in men’s T20I history.

Sohan and Meherob Power the Score
Bangladesh A reached a high total thanks to two key batters. Initially, Habibur Rahman Sohan built the foundation. He struck five sixes in his sizzling 65 off 46 balls.

Furthermore, SM Meherob finished the innings with power. He smashed 48 not out off just 18 balls. His late hitting helped the team plunder over 50 runs in the last two overs. Together, they set a target of 194 for six.

India A chased hard. Despite strong innings from Priyansh Arya (44), they fell short on the final ball, forcing the tie.

What Comes Next?
Bangladesh A now advances to the championship final. They will face the winner of the second semi-final (Pakistan A vs. Sri Lanka A) on Sunday.
