Thirteen shops have been burned to ashes in a devastating fire in Netrokona. The fire broke out at the Mohiuddin Market in Madan Upazila around 9:30 AM on Wednesday (November 26). Later, three units of the Fire Service brought the fire under control after an hour and a half of effort.

This information was confirmed by Jomiyat Ali, the Acting Station Master of the Madan Fire Station.
The fire caused an estimated loss of BDT 1 crore 77 lakh (17.7 million Taka) across approximately 17 shops in the Mohiuddin Market and Motiur Rahman Super Market.
Information gathered from the Madan Fire Service Station and the affected businessmen reveals that, like every day, the businessmen closed their shops on Tuesday night after finishing their business activities and went to their respective homes.
Around 9:30 AM on Wednesday morning, businessmen from neighboring shops noticed smoke coming from the ‘Ma Ornoli Bastra Bitan’ store in the western alley of Mohiuddin Market and tried to control the fire. The fire spread rapidly to several nearby shops. Subsequently, three units of the Fire Service controlled the blaze after about an hour and a half of efforts.
Jomiyat Ali, the Acting Station Master of Madan Fire Service, stated that the devastating fire at the Mohiuddin Market and Motiur Rahman Super Market caused a total loss of BDT 1 crore 77 lakh across 17 shops. He also mentioned that goods worth BDT 3 crore 61 lakh (36.1 million Taka) and cash worth BDT 36 lakh 40 thousand (3.64 million Taka) were burned to ashes.
