BGB Deploys 430 Platoons to Safeguard Durga Puja Celebrations Nationwide

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 430 platoons to secure 2,857 Durga Puja mandaps nationwide, according to a press release on Saturday. To ensure law and order during the festival, the BGB has established 24 base camps in border areas and enhanced intelligence surveillance alongside special patrols.

Out of the mandaps under BGB protection, 1,411 are located within 8 kilometers of the border, including 15 in the hill tracts, while 1,446 mandaps are situated outside the border areas. Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur city corporations have 441 mandaps, Chattogram metropolis, Raozan, and Rangunia have 694, and other regions have 311 mandaps.

The BGB reiterated its dedication to maintaining national peace, security, and sovereignty, and emphasized close coordination with local administration and law enforcement to ensure a peaceful celebration for Hindu devotees across the country.
