The BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) has strongly condemned the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha and an independent candidate for the Dhaka-$8$ constituency.
At the same time, the party demanded that the electoral environment be kept normal and that the security of all candidates be ensured. Furthermore, the party has announced a protest rally program across the country, including Dhaka, for tomorrow, Saturday (December $13$), in protest of this attack.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed announced this program on behalf of the party on Friday (December $12$) afternoon.
Rizvi Ahmed said, “A protest program will be observed across the country, including Dhaka, on Saturday to protest the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, the attack on a BNP member in Chattogram, the overall deterioration of the law and order situation, and the demand to bring the culprits under arrest.”
It is noted that Sharif Osman Hadi, the independent candidate for the Dhaka-$8$ constituency, was shot in the Bijoynagar area of the capital on Friday afternoon. He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in serious condition. Such an attack on an election candidate has increased concerns about the environment for a fair election.
