Journalists boycotted a press conference held by National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders Akhter Hossen and Tasnim Jara at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this morning, accusing NCP activists of misbehaving with them.

The incident occurred around 9:45 am near the VIP gate.
A journalist present during the incident, speaking anonymously, said the NCP activists were loudly shouting “Inqilab zindabad” during a media briefing by Humayun Kabir, foreign affairs adviser to BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
Their shouting made it difficult to hear Kabir’s speech. When asked to stop, the activists grew louder and later verbally abused and harassed journalists who tried to confront them.In protest, journalists walked out of the press conference that was to be addressed by NCP’s Akhter Hossen and Tasnim Jara.
The NCP media wing later issued a statement expressing regret over the incident.
It said Akhter Hossen and other party leaders have apologized to the affected journalists and an internal investigation is underway to identify those responsible.Videos of the clash are circulating on social media, showing journalists demanding disciplinary measures against the involved NCP activists.
