Rashed Khan confirmed the matter to a media outlet around $10:30$ PM on Wednesday.
Rashed Khan said: “Asif Mahmud played an important role in our student organization. From the quota reform movement during the fascist Hasina regime to all the struggles on the streets, he was with us. He even suffered a lot of abuse during that time.”
He further added, “We are currently in talks with Asif. He was previously involved in the politics of Gono Odhikar Parishad. He will be given a respectable position in the party. We have discussed this with him. The matter will be finalized very soon. However, we want to bring him back to the party at any cost.”
Earlier on Wednesday evening, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan submitted his resignation to Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus at Jamuna.
