Court Clears Mirza Abbas, Aman, and 43 BNP Leaders in Sabotage Cases
A Dhaka court has exonerated 45 BNP leaders, including Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and Chairperson’s Adviser Aman Ullah Aman, in two separate sabotage cases filed with the Paltan and Shahjahanpur police stations.

On Wednesday (December 17), Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan issued the discharge order after hearing arguments during the charge-framing stage. Defense lawyers confirmed that the court accepted the discharge petitions, citing a lack of grounds to proceed.
Notable Leaders Exonerated:
Goyeshwar Chandra Roy (Standing Committee Member)
Abdullah Al Noaman (Vice Chairman)
Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal (Adviser)
Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel (Joint Secretary General)
Saiful Alam Nirob, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, and SM Jahangir Hossain (Senior leaders and election candidates).
Case Details: The cases date back to February 3, 2013, involving allegations of rioting, torching vehicles, and throwing cocktails at police during processions in the Shantinagar and Malibagh areas. While several senior leaders like Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir were previously cleared by higher courts, the remaining 45 leaders were officially relieved of the charges today.
