Tarique Rahman, the Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has called for an investigation into any “malicious intent” behind the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inqilab Moncho.

Tarique Rahman made the remarks on Saturday (December 13) while virtually addressing a workshop titled ‘Plan for Nation Building,’ organized by the BNP at the Krishibid Institute auditorium in Farmgate, Dhaka.
He specifically addressed the recent violence, stating, “Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inqilab Moncho, was attacked by miscreants yesterday. He is currently hospitalized in a critical, bullet-ridden condition. We must consider if anyone had any malicious intent behind this attack.”
Rahman emphasized the need for national unity in the face of political conspiracies. “The conspiracies have not stopped,” he asserted. “If we do not unite for the welfare of the country, the country will be destroyed. Conspiracies will only be halted when democracy is established. Therefore, elections must be held at any cost.”
The BNP Acting Chairman urged party members to mobilize, saying, “Let us unite. We must take the plan we have made to the public. We need to make them understand it. Success will certainly come if we can explain our plan effectively.”
The discussion was part of a seven-day program organized by the BNP, with members from various party units across the country participating in phases.
The event was presided over by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, convener of the program implementation committee and Senior Joint Secretary General of the BNP, and moderated by Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel.
