BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed announced that the party is in the process of selecting candidates for the 13th national parliamentary elections.

He said that soon, single candidates in each constituency will receive the green light to begin their campaign work.

Speaking to journalists at his Gulshan residence, Salahuddin described BNP as a large democratic and liberal party with multiple eligible candidates in every seat, often 10 to 12 aspirants per constituency.

The party is finalizing candidates systematically, and official announcements will follow once the election schedule is released. He urged avoiding unnecessary issues that could cause further crises and mentioned ongoing talks with various political parties about forming an election-focused alliance.

Emphasizing unity among political groups to protect democracy, he said that despite internal differences, anti-fascist parties would unite on democratic matters.

Salahuddin also stated that while BNP demands accountability from the ruling party, it opposes banning any political party through executive orders, insisting that all actions must follow judicial processes.

He accused the Awami League of lacking remorse even after committing genocide and alleged they are conspiring against the country from Delhi.

He called on the government to file cases against the Awami League in ICT courts.Responding to remarks by the PM’s Adviser, Salahuddin said the Adviser should have refrained from claiming that people want the current government for another five years.
