Muntasir Mahmud, a former central organizer expelled from the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), has leveled serious allegations against Mahbub, the brother of Interim Government Information Advisor Mahfuz Alam. The allegations include wrongful termination from his job, expulsion from the party, and spreading malicious propaganda labeling him as a “homosexual” or “gay.”
Muntasir Mahmud made these explosive claims in a lengthy post on his verified Facebook account on Saturday afternoon (November 15).
In his post, Muntasir stated that he had formally reported corruption by some NCP leaders through organizational channels but received no remedy. Instead, on October 12, he was expelled from the party for alleged breach of disciplinary rules and was removed from his position as Deputy Director at the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
He questioned, writing, “How would you feel if people called you homosexual/gay, published news branding you as gay with your picture, and your parents and neighbors saw it? What if your relatives asked your parents, ‘Is your son gay? We saw it in the news… Is it true?”
He directly accused: “Advisor Mahfuz’s brother, Mahbub, wrongfully removed me from my job; I have provided evidence. He clearly threatened me… and sure enough, Mahbub, the traitor of July, used the power of the Advisor’s brother to fire me. This incident happened right in front of many NCP members.”
Muntasir further alleged, “Police attacked us upon the Advisor’s instructions…” He claimed, “I heard that Advisor’s brother Mahbub pressurized Convener Nahid Islam of the party to expel me through repeated intimidation. Wow, what a wonderful party you have. It seems the party’s convener himself is being held hostage by them!”
He also claimed to possess a call recording of Advisor Mahfuz Alam, where the Advisor allegedly blamed Jamaat-e-Islami/Shibir for covering up his brother’s corruption.
Muntasir alleged that after being socially and politically insulted from all sides, he is now receiving death threats and has people surveil his residence. He claimed that the reason behind all this “minus-politics” is that Advisor Mahfuz Alam intends to contest the election from his (Muntasir’s) organizational seat.
