Activists of Inqilab Mancha blocked the capital’s Shahbagh intersection for the third time today, Friday (January 2, 2026), demanding immediate justice for the murder of their spokesperson, Martyr Sharif Osman Hadi. The protesters declared that their street agitation would continue until all perpetrators are brought to justice.
Following the Jummah prayers, leaders and activists of Inqilab Mancha brought out a protest procession from the Dhaka University (DU) Central Mosque, eventually taking a position at the Shahbagh square.
Warning of Anti-Government Movement: Abdullah Al Jaber, the Member Secretary of Inqilab Mancha, issued a stern warning to the interim government. He stated that despite 21 days passing since the murder, the government has failed to identify and arrest the real killers, which he termed as a “lack of political will.”
Referring to the January 7 deadline for the charge sheet, Jaber warned, “If a charge sheet is filed only against Faisal Karim Masud, it will not be accepted. We want all conspirators named.” He further threatened to launch a movement to topple the government if justice is not served after January 7.
