Own Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has given a clear message regarding the ongoing discussion about the party’s candidate list. He stated that the list being discussed in the media or public is only preliminary; the party has not yet announced any final list of candidates.
He made this statement recently while talking to journalists. At the time, he highlighted the party’s position on the candidate list, the evaluation of coalition partners, and state reforms.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We have no problem. These things exist within political parties. As you all know, we have not given the final candidate list. We spoke preliminarily.” He clarified that there is no scope for confusion until the final list is published.
The BNP Secretary General assured that the allied parties participating in the concurrent anti-fascist movement will be properly evaluated. He said, “Those who participated in the concurrent movement will certainly be evaluated appropriately. I believe that there will be no problems. We are extremely optimistic that we will be able to participate in the election unitedly with those who participated in the movement.”
Regarding state reform, Mirza Fakhrul said that consensus has been reached on many issues through long discussions among political parties over the last nine months. And the issues on which agreement could not be reached will be settled through a referendum.
He expressed hope, saying, “Today, through this election, a new horizon will begin in the democratic history of Bangladesh. Through this, we will be able to form a Parliament that is representative of the people.”
