The acting Chairman of the BNP, Tarique Rahman, has expressed deep concern over the fire incident at the Karail Slum in Mohakhali, Dhaka.

He stated, “I express my deep condolences to the families affected by this dangerous fire. I strongly hope that they will overcome this difficult time with patience.”
He expressed this hope in a statement signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and sent to the media on Tuesday night (November 25).
In the statement, Tarique Rahman said, “Karail Slum and the surrounding areas were engulfed in a horrifying fire on Tuesday evening. It became difficult for the fire service to bring the fire under control. We are still not accurately informed about the extent of the damage caused by the fire. However, it is known that many houses have been burned down.”
He added, “The BNP expresses full solidarity with the tireless efforts of the Fire Service personnel and the local residents in extinguishing the devastating fire at the Karail Slum in Mohakhali. Their efforts have inspired a new spirit among the countrymen.”
“I hope that the spread of this terrible fire will cease quickly. I pray to Almighty Allah that no loss of life occurs,” he concluded.
