Khaled Saifullah Sohel (VP Sohel), President of Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila BNP, has expressed profound shock and grief at the passing of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members and well-wishers.
Begum Khaleda Zia passed away today, Tuesday (December 30), at 6:00 AM, just after the Fajr prayer, at Evercare Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un).
VP Sohel said, “May Almighty Allah have mercy on the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and grant her a place in Jannah. May Allah grant patience to her family, loved ones, and colleagues.”
It is noteworthy that Begum Khaleda Zia, popularly known as the “Leader of Mother, Soil, and People,” breathed her last at 6:00 AM while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital. With the passing of the country’s first female Prime Minister and the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the presence of a distinguished leader in the nation’s politics has come to an end.
The news of her death was confirmed by her personal physician and BNP National Standing Committee member, Professor Dr. A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain. She was 80 years old at the time of her death.
