‘Dum’ team returned home after finishing shooting in Kazakhstan.

The official journey of the Eid film ‘Dum’, directed by Redoan Rony and starring Chanchal Chowdhury, Afran Nisho, and Puja Cherry, began with a grand, well-publicized ceremony. It was announced at that event that the cast would include Chanchal Chowdhury, Afran Nisho, and Puja Cherry. Just a few days after the formal announcement, the entire ‘Dum’ team flew to Kazakhstan.

It was previously announced that the film’s shooting would take place in three countries, including Bangladesh. The trip to Kazakhstan was a continuation of that announcement. The team shot continuously for about a week in sub-zero temperatures (minus two degrees). After finishing the shoot, the ‘Dum’ team returned home on December $6$. The film is being directed by Redoan Rony.

Director Redoan Rony said: “The shooting of the film started in Kazakhstan. We shot in some remote locations. The weather there was also quite unfavorable. We were able to complete the shoot and return, thanks to locations suitable for the story and necessary technical support. Now it is time to shoot in Bangladesh.”

The shooting experience in Kazakhstan was not very pleasant for anyone, as reflected in the words of actor Chanchal Chowdhury. Even reaching the country was quite difficult for him.

Chanchal Chowdhury said: “I have never done such a long journey in my life. I was pretty exhausted from the transit and continuous travel. The cold! Minus two degrees. But even though it was minus two, it felt like $7$ or $8$ [degrees below zero]. I have never shot in such cold in my life. This time, I had a different experience during the ‘Dum’ shoot.”

After completing the overseas shoot, the second phase of filming will now begin in Bangladesh. Inquiring about this, it is learned that the team has just returned home and wants to rest for a few days. However, the specific time for starting the shooting could not be announced.

The film ‘Dum’ was announced in December $2023$, to be directed by Redoan Rony. Star actor Afran Nisho joined the project in July of this year. At the muhurat (inauguration) ceremony on October $29$, actress Puja Cherry was introduced alongside Chanchal and Nisho, arriving at the venue riding in a palanquin.

Puja Cherry said: “Being associated with the film ‘Dum’ feels like a rebirth in my acting career. Such a screenplay and character are a big challenge for me. The audience will understand why I am saying this when they watch the film.”

Sharing the story of how she joined the film, Puja said she found out she was finalized after an audition. She stated, “I stopped eating out of happiness then! Now we are rehearsing regularly, and the whole journey feels great.”

The film’s scriptwriters include Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al Amin Hasan, Saifullah Riyad, and Rabiul Alam. The film is being produced by SVF Alpha i Entertainment Limited and the OTT platform Chorki.
