The film ‘Noor,’ starring Arifin Shuvo and Jannatul Oishee, will finally be released. The film was submitted to the Censor Board in July 2022. It needed permission for its release. Initially, the board denied the clearance certificate due to flaws. The filmmakers corrected the issues. The board granted the clearance certificate at the end of the year.
Almost three years have passed since the film received clearance. Finally, on Monday evening, the team announced the release of ‘Noor.’ The movie was initially made for cinema halls. Now, it will instead release on an OTT platform. The final preparations for the streaming release are now ongoing. The team expects the trailer to drop within the next day or two.
Raihan Rafi directed the film ‘Noor.’ Shapla Media was the initial production company. A source revealed that Quiet & Set production house bought the film in June 2024.
Since then, the new producers explored various options for release. After several meetings, the director, actors, and producer reached a decision. They chose the OTT platform for the release. The film might premiere on the Bioscope app. The possible release dates are November 28th or the second week of December.
Director Raihan Rafi addressed the decision to choose OTT over theaters. He said, “This is an older film.” He continued, “After seeing it, I thought an OTT release would be better. It will be a good experience for the OTT audience.”
When asked why the initial theatrical plan changed, the director offered a simple reason. “We thought so then, and we don’t think so now—there is no other logic,” he stated.
A separate source indicated that the lead actors, Arifin Shuvo and Oishee, preferred a theatrical release. Their wish was not fulfilled. However, they agreed to participate in promotional photoshoots. They acted professionally despite their preference.
This marks the third collaboration between Arifin Shuvo and Oishee. They previously worked on the films ‘Mission Extreme’ and ‘Mission Extreme 2: Black War.’ Rumors of a romantic relationship once circulated. Both stars dismissed these claims. They insisted their bond was one of friendship and mentorship.
