Random gunfire leaves one dead in Old Dhaka

A random shooting in front of Dhaka National Medical College, near Jagannath University in Old Dhaka, has left one person dead.

The attack occurred around 11 am on Monday, when multiple assailants opened fire on an unidentified man in broad daylight.

Eyewitnesses reported that the victim sustained at least four gunshot wounds.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

According to local sources, assailants opened fire in an open area in front of Dhaka National Medical College and fled the scene, leaving one person shot. The victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

A bullet-hit man was brought in to the DMCH where duty doctors pronounced him dead, confirmed Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of DMCH police camp.

On information, police visited the scene and launched a full-scale investigation to find out those involved.
