BGB Deployed in Dhaka and 4 Districts to Maintain Law and Order

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed to maintain overall security and law and order in Dhaka and four other districts: Gopalganj, Faridpur, and Madaripur. This measure was confirmed by the BGB Headquarters on Sunday (November 16) as a response to the escalating unrest. The deployment comes amid a week of increased political violence, including frequent cocktail explosions and incidents of arson targeting buses across the capital and major highways. The BGB is now working alongside other law enforcement agencies at the field level to stabilize the situation ahead of the political events expected tomorrow.
