BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury stated that the party is changing its traditional political approach and will now directly reach out to the general public and business community. He said, “Politicians usually want everyone to come to them, but the BNP is changing this system. This time, we will go directly to those who have problems.”

He made these remarks as the chief guest at an exchange of views with businessmen in Faridpur Sadar Upazila on Saturday (November 15) afternoon.
Amir Khosru said, “We are holding meetings and talking with businessmen in every division. We have listened to them. Politics will no longer continue as before. If we fail to embrace the change in people’s mindset and the expectations created following the fall of the previous government, that political party has no future.”
He announced that the BNP’s new slogan is the ‘democratization of the economy.’ He stated, “The opportunity for every citizen to participate in economic activities must be ensured. The benefits of the economy must go to everyone; not just one particular group, nor be limited to a few people centered in Dhaka or Chittagong.”
Addressing the businessmen, he remarked, “We are currently giving a job interview, but you are the ones who will provide the jobs. The people are the owners of the jobs. The BNP was created to move the country forward through the contribution of the private sector.”
Highlighting the complexities of doing business in the country, Amir Khosru said, “To start a business, 19 different permissions are required. It takes a businessman six months to one year to obtain these 19 permissions. After this, will anyone come to this country to do business? There are obstacles everywhere.”
He assured that the BNP will bring major changes to government policies to build a business-friendly country and attract foreign investment. He said, “Tarique Rahman’s dream is for Bangladesh to stand tall before the world again, first economically. Without economic prosperity, nothing will be achieved.”
He reiterated the BNP’s pledge to create 1 crore jobs in the first 18 months and to spend 5 percent of the GDP on the health and education sectors if they come to power.
The meeting, chaired by BNP Central Committee Organizing Secretary Shama Obaed Islam Rinku, was also addressed by BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Alhaj Zahirul Haque Shahzada Miah, former BGMEA President S M Fazlul Haque, Economist Professor Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, and leaders of the Faridpur Merchant Association.
