The Amar Ekushey Book Fair, organized by Bangla Academy, will officially commence on February 20 next year and run until March 15.
The decision was finalized during an emergency meeting regarding the scheduling of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2026, held on Wednesday (December 17) afternoon at the Shahid Munir Chowdhury Conference Room of Bangla Academy. The announcement was later shared via a post on Bangla Academy’s verified Facebook page.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that the fair would be inaugurated at 11:00 AM on February 20.
The meeting was attended by:
Md. Mofidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Professor Mohammad Azam, Director General of Bangla Academy.
Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Proctor of Dhaka University.
Directors of Bangla Academy, representatives from various publishing houses, and officials from law enforcement agencies were also present at the session.
