A fire broke out at a section of the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon, officials confirmed.

The affected area is used to store imported goods.
Duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, Lima Khanam, said that four fire service units were working to bring the blaze under control.
Masudul Hasan Masud, spokesperson for the Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, told the media that the fire erupted in a section adjacent to the Cargo Village.
He added that members of the fire service, Bangladesh Air Force, and airport personnel were jointly working to douse the flames.
He also confirmed that flight operations at the airport remained unaffected despite the fire. The cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage were yet to be determined at the time of filing this report.
