Here is the translation of Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus’s tribute to Sharif Osman Hadi, rendered into a professional and emotive English news format.
DHAKA – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus delivered a moving tribute today, Saturday (December 20), at the namaz-e-janaza of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Addressing the massive gathering, the Chief Adviser said:
“Hadi, you will not be lost. No one will ever be able to forget you. You will remain with us for ages to come.”
Dr. Yunus emphasized that the gathering was not a final goodbye, but a commitment to the fallen leader’s vision. “Dear Hadi, we have not come here today to bid you farewell. We have come to vow that we will fulfill what you spoke of. Not just us, but all the people of Bangladesh will fulfill that promise.”
The Chief Adviser spoke of Hadi’s character and political philosophy, stating: “We have wholeheartedly embraced your love for humanity, your mannerisms, and your political outlook, which everyone is praising. May this remain alive in our hearts forever so that we may follow it. You have whispered a mantra into my ear that no one in Bangladesh will ever forget.”
Invoking the spirit of the National Poet, Dr. Yunus remarked that Hadi’s legacy is one of courage and defiance. “That mantra will forever ring in our ears—a great mantra that will remain bound to Bangladesh. Your mantra was: ‘Bol Bir, Chiro Unnoto Momo Shir’ (Say, O Valiant, ever high is my head). Our heads shall never bow. You have given us that mantra, and we will prove it through all our actions. We will walk with our heads held high before the world; we will never bow to anyone.”
Reflecting on Hadi’s aspirations as an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, the Chief Adviser noted: “Dear Hadi, you wanted to participate in the elections. You have shown us a process of how to engage in an election. We must all embrace that process together. We have taken this lesson from you.”
