EC Imposes Ban on New Development Projects & Inaugurations Ahead of Polls

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a strict directive banning the approval, inauguration, and foundation stone laying of any new development projects until the national elections are concluded. This move aims to prevent any unfair advantage for the ruling party and ensure a level playing field for all candidates.

The EC clarified that no government funds can be sanctioned for new projects that might influence voters. However, ongoing projects will continue as scheduled. All ministries and government departments have been notified to strictly adhere to this code of conduct to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
