The Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s team has taken the lead in the T20 series against the Pakistan Under-19 Women’s team. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the third match of the series in Cox’s Bazar today. Consequently, the hosts now lead the five-match series 2-1.

Like the first two matches, today’s game was also low-scoring. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Pakistan girls scored 86 runs for 8 wickets. The Bangladesh girls chased down this modest total in just 13.3 overs, losing 3 wickets.

Captain Sadia Islam scored a match-high 35 runs off 28 balls for Bangladesh. She hit three sixes. After losing 2 wickets for just 8 runs, Sadia formed a 45-run partnership with Jannat. After the captain was dismissed with the team score at 53, Jannat finished the rest of the job. Most of the runs in the unbeaten 34-run fourth-wicket partnership came from Jannat, who remained unbeaten on 30 runs off 25 balls. Her partner in the partnership, Maymuna Nahar, was unbeaten on 4 runs.

Earlier in the Pakistan innings, Habiba Islam and Atoshi Mazumdar each took 2 wickets.

The last two matches of the series will also be held in Cox’s Bazar on December 10 and 12. Bangladesh Under-19 captain Sadia Islam was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance in the third match.
