The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has initiated a new nationwide program, urging party members and supporters to hold special prayers for the recovery of Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

The party issued a directive today, calling for Jumu’ah (Friday) prayers across all mosques in Bangladesh to be followed by specific dua (prayers) for the “Leader of the Nation” (Deshnetri).
Context of the Program
The program comes amid heightened concern over Khaleda Zia’s health. As she is currently receiving advanced medical treatment in a foreign country, the party aims to engage its grassroots support through spiritual mobilization.
A senior BNP leader stated that the program is intended to show solidarity and seek divine intervention for the swift recovery of the Chairperson. Furthermore, the initiative signals the party’s continued focus on Khaleda Zia, despite her current absence from the political scene. The party has instructed all district and upazila units to ensure the widespread implementation of this prayer program.
