The Chiefs of the three military services have visited former three-time Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the hospital.

On Tuesday night (December 2), Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan visited Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, where she is undergoing treatment.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate confirmed this information.
Khaleda Zia’s Health Condition
Khaleda Zia has long suffered from multiple complex ailments, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney issues, lung and eye problems. She was released following the mass uprising that led to the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 last year.
She subsequently traveled to London for advanced treatment on January 7 of this year. After staying in London for 117 days for treatment, she returned to the country on May 6.
Since her return, the BNP Chairperson has been routinely taken to Evercare Hospital for health check-ups. She has been receiving treatment at the hospital since November 23. Tests conducted there revealed a lung infection. The BNP later reported that her condition was critical.
Doctor’s Emotional Appeal
On Tuesday afternoon (December 2), Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, a member of the party’s Standing Committee and Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, spoke to journalists outside the hospital. He expressed hope that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would recover quickly.
Dr. Zahid became emotional while providing updates on Khaleda Zia’s health and broke down in tears.
He appealed to everyone not to spread any rumors regarding her physical condition.
Dr. Zahid stated, “Khaleda Zia is receiving treatment from doctors. Local and international doctors are trying their best. Everyone please be patient; do not spread rumors.”
Dr. Zahid also informed that a medical team from the UK would arrive today (December 2). If they recommend taking her abroad, arrangements will be made.
Earlier, the interim government declared former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia a “Very Important Person” (VIP).
