U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a combative and wide-ranging speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, calling for tougher immigration policies, rejecting climate change measures, and sharply criticizing world leaders.

In his 56-minute address, Trump urged nations to curb mass migration, citing his own policies as a model, and dismissed climate change as a “con job,” calling instead for greater reliance on fossil fuels. He warned that current immigration trends and what he called “suicidal energy ideas” would lead Western Europe to collapse.
Trump also opposed global efforts to support a Palestinian state amid Israel’s Gaza offensive and pushed European nations to adopt strong economic measures against Russia to help end the war in Ukraine. He mocked NATO allies for continuing to buy Russian oil and said the U.S. is prepared to impose powerful tariffs if Moscow refuses to negotiate peace.
The U.S. president, seeking to portray himself as a global peacemaker, repeated his call for a ceasefire-for-hostages deal in Gaza and criticized the U.N. for not backing his conflict-resolution efforts. He even joked about being stuck on a broken escalator with First Lady Melania Trump and a malfunctioning teleprompter during his visit.
