To ensure that the celebrations are peaceful and uninterrupted, the police force has been placed on maximum alert.
The security plan was finalized during a meeting held on Wednesday morning (December 17) at the Hall of Pride in Police Headquarters, chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam. The meeting involved detailed discussions on law and order surrounding these two major events.
Leaders of the Christian community present at the meeting expressed their satisfaction with the security arrangements. In his speech, IGP Baharul Alam stated, “Christmas is a universal festival. The police are on high alert for both Christmas and 31st Night. We will utilize the full capacity of the Bangladesh Police to ensure these festivals are celebrated in a peaceful environment.”
Key Security Measures Adopted:
Cyber Monitoring: Cyber surveillance will be intensified to prevent individuals or groups from posting misleading content or images on social media that could disrupt communal harmony. Immediate legal action will be taken against provocateurs.
Church Security: To ensure the safety of all churches, the deployment of volunteers alongside law enforcement, adequate lighting, and standby generators has been requested.
Tourism Zones: Special security will be beefed up in all tourist destinations across the country, including Cox’s Bazar and Kuakata.
Traffic Control: On 31st Night, police will take strict action against loud horns and reckless driving of cars or motorcycles.
The public has been urged to contact the National Emergency Service at 999 or their local Bit Police officer for any urgent assistance.

Shahidur Rahman, St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish Priest Father Albert Rozario, President of the Bangladesh Christian Association Nirmal Rozario, and other senior police officials and Christian community leaders.
