Teacher Arrested After Being Beaten by Parents Over Alleged Rape

MUNSHIGANJ, November 23 — Police have arrested Roman Mia, a teacher at Munshiganj’s PTI School, after a dramatic confrontation on Sunday where angry parents physically assaulted him following allegations that he raped a third-grade student.

The shocking incident is reported to have occurred last Thursday. The student had reportedly asked Mia for water, and the teacher allegedly attacked her inside the washroom.

Teacher in Police Custody
The victim’s father has lodged a formal case against the teacher at the Munshiganj Sadar Police Station.

Officer-in-Charge M Saiful Alam confirmed that Roman Mia is now in police custody following the arrest on Sunday.

Allegations of Prior Misconduct
The incident has sparked outrage, with parents criticizing the school administration.

Parents’ Allegation: Angry parents stated that the school had previously ignored complaints regarding Mia’s misconduct involving other students.

Principal’s Claim: The school principal, however, claimed that no prior official complaints had ever been filed against the teacher.

Police are continuing their investigation into the rape allegations and the claims of past misconduct.
