Online Desk : Fazlul Hoque, former president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and a former director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), on Sunday officially assumed charge as the administrator of the FBCCI following his appointment by the Ministry of Commerce.

Fazlul, who is also the managing director of Plummy Fashions Ltd, has been tasked with conducting a free and fair election for the country’s apex trade body within 120 days before handing over responsibilities to the newly elected leadership.

Shortly after taking charge, he held an introductory meeting with officers and employees of the FBCCI Secretariat. During the meeting, Fazlul sought the full cooperation and support of the secretariat to ensure the successful completion of the election process within the stipulated timeframe.

In response, FBCCI Secretary General Md Alamgir assured the administrator of the secretariat’s full support, saying officials would work with neutrality and integrity to facilitate a credible election.

He also said the secretariat would continue its efforts to advance the federation’s role in trade facilitation and policy advocacy while carrying out its election-related responsibilities.
