DU undergraduate admission application begins Nov 11

Online Desk : Dhaka University (DU) will begin online applications for undergraduate admission to the 2026–27 academic session on November 11 at 12:00pm, according to the university’s Public Relations Office.

Eligible candidates will be able to submit applications until 11:59pm on November 25.

The schedule was finalised at a meeting of the university’s admission committee held today at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr ABM Obaidul Islam in the chair.

As in previous years, admission tests will be held under five units—Arts, Law and Social Science, Science, Business Studies, Fine Arts and IBA.

According to the schedule, the IBA admission test will be held on December 5, the Science unit exam on December 12, the Arts, Law and Social Science unit exam on December 19, the Fine Arts unit examination (General Knowledge and Drawing) on December 22, and the Business Studies unit exam on December 26.

All admission tests, except for the IBA unit, will be held from 11:00am to 12:30pm. The IBA examination will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Except for the Fine Arts and IBA units, admission tests will be conducted in eight divisional centres across the country, including Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, the University of Chittagong, the University of Barishal, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University and Begum Rokeya University.

For all units except Fine Arts and IBA, the admission test will consist of 60 marks for multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 40 marks for the written section. The Fine Arts unit will have 40 marks for MCQs and 60 marks for drawing, while the IBA unit will comprise 70 marks for MCQs and 30 marks for the written test.

Each admission test will carry 100 marks, with an additional 20 marks allocated based on SSC and HSC results.

Applicants must have passed the SSC or equivalent examinations between 2021 and 2024 and the HSC or equivalent examination in 2026.

The admission committee also decided that the Science unit question paper for English-medium students will be prepared in line with their academic curriculum.

Classes for the 2026–27 academic session are scheduled to begin on March 28, 2027.
