Foreign aid commitments to Bangladesh have soared in the first two months of the current fiscal year (FY2025-26), reflecting renewed donor confidence in the nation’s economic management and project implementation.

Provisional data from the Economic Relations Division (ERD) show that aid commitments jumped to $243.81 million in July-August FY26, an impressive 1,109% increase compared to just $20.16 million in the same period last year.
Officials and economists attribute this sharp rise to the interim government’s focus on accelerating stalled projects, enhancing fiscal transparency, and restoring trust with development partners.
