Israeli air and drone strikes killed at least 52 people across Gaza on 2 October 2025, causing heavy casualties in Gaza City, central Gaza, and the south, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency and hospitals.

Among the dead was Omar al-Hayek, a 26-year-old employee of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), who died in an attack on civilians in Deir al-Balah.
The Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis reported nearly 30 deaths, including 14 people shot by Israeli forces while waiting for food aid.
Hospitals received numerous bodies wrapped in white shrouds as relatives mourned.
The Israeli military said it was investigating the incident.
The conflict began nearly two years ago after Hamas’s large-scale attack on Israel in October 2023, which killed over 1,200 Israelis.
Since then, Israeli operations have killed over 66,000 Palestinians, mostly civilians, according to Gaza health authorities.
