People won’t accept polls without PR system: Jamaat Secretary General

Morningtimes Online Report:Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar has said that people of the country will not accept any election unless it is held under the proportional representation (PR) system.

Speaking today as the chief guest at a roundtable discussion titled “Election under PR System and the Legal Basis of the July Charter” at the National Press Club auditorium, Porwar said that adopting the PR system is essential to ensuring political fairness.

“If the PR system of election and the legal basis of the July Charter are not established, fascism will re-emerge in this country,” he said.
