Online Desk : River ports in Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No. 1 as active monsoon conditions are likely to bring heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

The National Disaster Response Coordination Centre (NDRCC) issued the advisory on Wednesday, warning that rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or southeast, with speeds of 45-60 kilometres per hour, may affect the regions.
The NDRCC also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions during the 24 hours from 9:00am on Wednesday.
According to the advisory, heavy rainfall of 44-88 millimetres and very heavy rainfall exceeding 88 millimetres may occur in some areas.
The notification further warned that very heavy rainfall could trigger landslides in hilly areas of Chattogram division, urging residents and authorities to remain vigilant.
