PM hands over job appointment letters to 10 July uprising victims’ family members

Online Desk : Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today handed over job appointment letters to 10 family members of martyrs and seriously injured victims of the July Mass Uprising.

The Prime Minister handed over the appointment letters at his office in Tejgaon this afternoon, Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplur said.

The recipients are Sabina Akter Rima, wife of martyr Md Sohag; Raziya Khatun, wife of martyr Md Shahriar; Afsana Akter, wife of martyr Md Abdullah Kabir; Akleema Akter, wife of martyr Md Mostafa Kamal Raju; Sumaiya Akter Suborna, wife of martyr Md Jewel; Samia Islam Popy, sister of martyr Miraj; Hafiza Akter Happy, wife of martyr Ahsan Kabir; Farzana Akter Rani, wife of martyr Omar Nurul Absar; Sabana Akter, wife of injured Md Abdul Matin; and Arzu Akter, wife of seriously injured Md Zulfikar Alam.

After handing over the appointment letters, the Prime Minister spoke with the family members and inquired about their wellbeing.

Referring to the sacrifices made by people at different stages of the country’s history, from the 1971 Liberation War to the July Movement of 2024, Tarique Rahman said the ultimate objective of those sacrifices was to build a better Bangladesh where people could lead better lives.

“Those whom we have lost, those who were physically injured or otherwise affected—all their sacrifices were driven by a single aspiration—to make Bangladesh a better country,” he said.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the various limitations facing the state and the government, saying the country must continue moving forward based on reality despite such constraints.

“What we received is not the most important thing. Rather, what we were able to give to the country is what matters most,” he said.

“If the country could gradually move forward with this goal in mind, it would be possible to build a Bangladesh that people aspire to see in the future,” he added.

He said the government would continue its efforts to ensure due recognition of the sacrifices made by those who were killed or injured during the July Movement.

Fatema Tuz Zohra, mother of martyr Abdullah Bin Zahid, who recently joined government service, and injured July fighter Soheli Tamanna were also present at the programme and met the Prime Minister.

The family members of the martyrs and injured July fighters expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister after receiving the appointment letters, according to the Deputy Press Secretary.

Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman and Amra BNP Poribar Member Secretary agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun were also present.
