The main accused in the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Shahid Sharif Osman Bin Hady, identified as Faisal, has fled the country, according to DMP Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam.

During a press conference at the DMP Media Center on Sunday (December 28), the official shared updates on the investigation. He stated that the murder was entirely pre-planned. Faisal and another accomplice reportedly crossed the border into India via Mymensingh. So far, police have arrested 11 individuals in connection with the case.
Among those arrested, six have already provided confessional statements. The DMP official added that the chargesheet is expected to be submitted to the court within the next 7–8 days.
The incident occurred on December 12 at approximately 2:20 PM on Box Culvert Road in Paltan. After finishing Jummah prayers and promotional activities, Hady was heading toward Suhrawardy Udyan when the primary accused, Faisal Karim Masud Rahul Daud, and an unidentified associate opened fire from a moving motorcycle.
Hady was initially rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later transferred to Evercare Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was flown to Singapore on December 15, where he passed away at Singapore General Hospital on December 18 at 9:45 PM.
Originally filed as an attempted murder case on December 14 by Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber, the charges were upgraded to Section 302 (Murder) of the Penal Code on December 20 following a court order by Metropolitan Magistrate Siddique Azad.
