At least seven people were killed and 15 others injured in a devastating Russian ballistic missile attack targeting port infrastructure in Ukraine’s southwestern Odesa region. The strike, which occurred late Friday (December 19, 2025), caused a massive fire in a parking lot for cargo trucks.
According to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba and regional governor Oleh Kiper, the missiles hit the port facilities during the evening. Emergency services faced significant challenges as air raid alerts continued throughout the rescue operation. Reports indicate that most of those killed were truck drivers who were caught in the explosion.
Russia has intensified its attacks on Odesa’s logistics and energy infrastructure in recent weeks, causing widespread power outages and heating disruptions during the freezing winter months.
