BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman

For the first time in two decades, BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman has given an exclusive interview to the media — speaking to BBC Bangla in a rare appearance that is already drawing national attention.

In the two-part interview, Tarique discusses a wide range of issues including Bangladesh’s upcoming elections, national politics, and the future direction of the BNP.

The conversation, described as candid and wide-ranging, marks a significant public engagement by the exiled political leader after years of maintaining a low media profile.

The interview will air in two segments, on Monday (6 Oct) and Tuesday (7 Oct) at 9am, across BBC Bangla’s website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel, according to the broadcaster.

Tarique, who has lived in London since 2008, has rarely spoken to the press, making this appearance one of the most anticipated political interviews in recent Bangladeshi media history.
