BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has declared that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has a history of saving the nation from the brink of collapse and will do so again. Speaking virtually from London at an event in Bogra today (Sunday, December 21), he emphasized the need for national unity to face the “challenging times” ahead.
“The country is now free from autocracy. To make this independence meaningful, we must rebuild the nation from the ruins,” Tarique Rahman stated while inaugurating a digital memorial for the martyrs of the July uprising.
He paid tribute to martyr Sharif Osman Hadi, calling him a “fearless soldier of democracy.” The BNP leader also urged everyone to uphold the dignity of both the 1971 Liberation War martyrs and the 2024 July movement heroes. He warned that “conspiracies are still ongoing” and that only an accountable, elected government can ensure long-term national sovereignty.
