Shibir-backed panel “Students Alliance of Harmony” held a press conference at Chittagong University, urging action before the upcoming Cucsu election.
Vice president candidate Ibrahim Hossain (Roni) raised concerns about election security and administrative delays. He noted that despite promises, outsiders still roam campus, calling for prompt security enforcement.
Roni highlighted the lack of Senate representation arrangements in contrast to other universities and questioned the administration’s position.
He stressed the urgency of releasing the approved list of polling agents, as its absence hampers proper preparations.
The panel demanded repair or replacement of non-functional CCTV cameras at polling centers to ensure election transparency and requested the use of indelible ink for voters.
Additionally, uninterrupted electricity and internet during voting and results are essential.
The panel also called for increased shuttle train schedules and the resumption of university bus service for non-residential students, urging quick route announcements to ease student difficulties.
The conference began by honoring martyrs of mass uprisings from 1947 to 2024, marking the seriousness of their demands ahead of the election.
