BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused key ruling party figures—Obaidul Quader, Anisul Hoque, Salman F Rahman, and Asaduzzaman Kamal, known as the “gang of four”—of advising former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on violent acts that promote a culture of killings and intimidation.
Rizvi also alleged that Sheikh Hasina’s security adviser, Tarek Siddiqui, supported the use of killings to suppress movements.
Rizvi made these remarks after visiting Dolon, a former Jubo Dal leader seriously injured in an attack in Rupganj.
He claimed leaked phone recordings showed directives for murder and robbery from the “gang of four.” Rizvi accused the government of overseeing a “bloodthirsty” leadership responsible for the deaths of 1,400 to 1,500 activists, including students and workers, and said 450 BNP activists, including 142 student wing members, have been murdered.
He condemned the attack on Dolon, calling it politically motivated, and demanded the immediate arrest of the assailants, warning the local administration would be held accountable for any further violence.
Rizvi urged party members to report officials protecting attackers and promised disciplinary actions regardless of status.
